William G. “Bill” Wallace, age 83, of Janesville, WI passed away at his home on May 15, 2025. He was born, the only child of Neil and Gladys (Miller) Wallace in Janesville on December 16, 1941. He attended Dillenbeck Elementary School and continued to enjoy the Dillenbeck reunions throughout his life. He graduated from Janesville Senior High School in 1959.
Bill married Mary Ann Gilbertson on November 13, 1965. He was employed by General Motors for 43 ½ years and was a member of U.A.W. Local # 95. Bill enjoyed writing poetry, especially the poems he wrote about and for the common man. He also enjoyed writing lyrics for music. Trips to his land in northern Wisconsin was especially enjoyable where he loved to hunt and fish. Bill loved to play cards, especially euchre and cribbage as well as to watch western movies. Above all else, Bill’s favorite thing was when his family was all together, whether they were traveling somewhere or just being together at home, he always remarked, “this is my favorite thing in life”.
Bill is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Ann Wallace; children, Sue (Don) Wallin, Sara (Jim) Angus, and Scott (Jessica) Wallace; grandchildren, Madelynn and William Wallace, and Kaitlin and Ryan Angus; and cousin, Marjorie Lott. Bill’s parents preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 N. Wright Road, Janesville. Chaplain Gregory Nicholl will officiate. Burial will follow in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21st and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. May 22nd at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME.
