William Arthur Thiel

William Arthur Thiel of Janesville, WI passed away at Javon Bea Hospital (Mercy), Rockford, IL at the age of 85 on December 21, 2025.He is survived by his wife, Carol Binder Thiel. Father of Cori Thiel, stepfather of Matt Binder and father-in-law of Terry Jacobs. Proud grandfather of Santana Kaska, Shelby and Emily Jacobs. Great-grandfather of Lawson and Gavin. Dear brother of Anne Reuther. Further survived by nephew, Chris Reuther, aunts Shirley Graykowski and Marion Thiel, many cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Carol Franke Thiel and Lester Thiel; grand-parents, Anna and Arthur Franke and Anna and Arthur Thiel; stepdaughter, Mona Jacobs and brother-in-law, Roger Reuther.

William graduated in 1958 from Lincoln High School, Manitowoc, WI and served in the US Army from 1958-1961. He was the former owner of Bill’s Budget Autos, Waukegan, IL and longtime car salesman in WI and IL.

A Celebration of Life to be held at a later date. Burial in June at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc, WI.
