Warren James Strelcheck, age 76, a life-long Janesville area resident, passed away on March 30,2026. He was born in Janesville on June 30, 1949, the son of the late James and Fern (Anderson) Strelcheck. Warren married the love of his life, Kristine Arndt, on July 11, 1970, and they spent the next 54 years together. They had two children, Adrienne (Emily Zimmer) and Jared (Miranda). He is further survived by his sister, Virginia (Dave) Main; and brothers, John (Mary) Strelcheck and Michael Strelcheck. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Kristine; his parents, and a brother John Strelcheck.
Warren was a man of many talents. He worked for the city of Janesville for 10 years as head greenskeeper of Blackhawk Golf Course. He drove semitruck for five years. He opened his auto shop, Downtown Service Center, in the 1980’s and operated that for the next 25 years. On the side, he purchased and operated Arndt Snow Plowing, which he operated for 40 years. He also was a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 15 years, and there were many more side jobs through the years. As a retirement gift to himself, he opened Beef Brothers, making the best Italian beef this side of Chicago for the next three years.
Warren was a devoted member and elder of Creston Park Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses. He was known for his jovial conversation and comforting energy. Warren and Kristine were loving foster parents for many years and welcomed many adopted children into their homes.
A celebration of life will be held from 1p.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, May 8, 2026, at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 N. Wright Road, Janesville, with a time of remembrance and sharing at 3 p.m.
