Vicki K. Burgett, age 77, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2025, at Rock Haven Nursing Home. Born on July 14, 1947, in Janesville, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of Delores Hesgard (Waggoner) and Edward Bluhm. She graduated from Marshfield High School and later attended Blackhawk Technical College in Janesville, Wisconsin.
Vicki married Francis Gensler and raised three daughters in Janesville, instilling in them the importance of being strong, empowered women. She was very proud of the lives they each built and the strong bond her girls maintained as sisters. Vicki spent the majority of her career with Alliant Energy. She later married Warren Burgett, a sweetheart from her younger years, and they had over 30 years together where they enjoyed weekends in Chicago, vacationing in Mexico, going to Packer games, and riding Warren’s Harley.
If you knew Vicki, you knew she had a green thumb. Her summer weekends were spent in her flowerbeds or at the KW Greenery. Once her yard was finished, she would move on to her daughter’s yard. Vicki also loved animals. She had many pets throughout her life. And if she wasn’t taking care of her pets or her daughters’ pets, she was feeding the neighborhood animals.
Vicki’s most cherished role was that of grandma. She helped raise and spoil her only grandchild, Sarah Elizabeth. They shared a very special bond and even in her final days, there was no one who could light up her face like Sarah.
Vicki is survived by her husband, Warren Burgett; daughters, Kari (Xavier) Santistevan, and Karissa Gensler, and granddaughter, Sarah. She was preceded in death by her daughter Kimberlee.
Private burial will be at Milton Lawns Memorial Park, Janesville.
Henke-Clarson Funeral Home of Janesville is assisting the family. Online condolences are welcome at www.henkeclarson.com.
