Roger Gayle Lambert of Janesville, WI was born on January 22, 1930 in Minneapolis, MN and passed away in Janesville on January 18, 2026. He was married to Rosalie Pehousek for 63 years prior to her passing in 2019. He earned a PhD in Botany from the University of Minnesota.

Roger served as a 1st Lt. in the U. S. Army Signal Corp in 1953. In 1961 he moved to Louisville, KY where he taught at the University of Louisville for 32 years. He moved to Janesville in 2016 to be closer to family. He later moved to Cedar Crest Apartments where he enjoyed fellowship with staff and neighbors.

Roger is survived by three children: Linda (Steve) Lengfellner, Nancy (Mike) Rainiero, and Steve (Gina) Lambert; seven grandchildren, Sarah Carey, Bethany Thomas, Kristen Gosline, Hanna Rainiero, Michael Rainiero, Jason Lambert, Jenna Lambert; seven great-grandchildren Emma, Charlie, Oliver Thomas, Graham Gosline, Riley Rainiero, Ella and Kelsey Carey. In addition to his wife, Rosalie and his parents, Ward and Ellen Lambert, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lois Michelson.

Roger will be remembered for his quiet sense of humor and sharp wit to the end. He was proud of his independence for most of his 95 years.
