Robin Louise McMullin

Robin Louise McMullin (Miedema-Boorom), 66, of Janesville, WI, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on October 30, 2026 after 5 ½ years of living with ALS.

Robin was born and raised in Clinton, WI, the youngest of four daughters, to Jake and Helen Miedema. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1978, and went on to work in various fields until taking an early retirement in 2020 from Mercy’s Optical Department in Janesville, WI.

Anyone that knew her knew she loved a good project. This could be fixing up and repairing things, sewing, making blankets and quilts, restoring an old house, creating a stained-glass piece, scrapbooking her family and various trips, creating fun and colorful cards, gardening, and working around the yard.

Robin was also known for leading and living in faith. As her ALS progressed, her faith and commitment became stronger in Christ. So did her connections to those that cared and visited with her. Robin was very grateful to all of her caregivers over the years, and a few of them had been with her since the start of her journey. They held a special place in her heart and she in theirs.

She will be remembered for her quirky humor, infectious laugh, her enjoyment of decorating and celebrating the holidays, and for her love to dance freely.

Robin is survived by her husband and life partner since 1991, William “Bill” McMullin; her children, Stuart (Andrea) McMullin, Karina (Ian) McQuistan, Jenica Boorom, Ethan Boorom, Stasia (Bryce) Hummel; her thirteen grandchildren, Emma, Jaela, Jaz, Eli, Callum, Nathaniel, Isla, Hadassah, Elaina, Brynley, Elora, Amina, Kaiya; her sisters, Joyce Halvorsen, Sandy Mutchler, Nancy (Jim) Thompson, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Helen Miedema, and brothers-in-law, Thomas Halvorsen, and James Mutchler.

A celebration of life is scheduled for Wednesday, November 11, 2026, at Faith Community Church in Janesville, WI. A visitation will begin at 10am, formal service at 11:30am, and a luncheon will follow immediately after.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Robin’s honor to the ALS Association of Wisconsin.
