Joan H. Zantow

Joan H. Zantow, age 89 of Janesville, WI passed away peacefully at Skaalen Nursing Home in Stoughton, WI on May 17, 2025. She was born to Floyd and Philippine (Blinn) Knox on June 12, 1935, in Caledonia, MN. She met her husband Diehl Zantow in the Baraboo, WI area and they married on August 3rd, 1954. Joan found her greatest joy in nurturing and caring for children, whether her own or those in the community. She always kept a very neat and tidy house, which she was very proud of. She also enjoyed camping with the Campers Club with relatives and friends. Joan also loved to go out dancing every weekend.

Joan is survived by her daughter, Mary (Paul) Harding of Madison, WI; two grandsons Zack Green and Nick Key; sister Judy (Dennis) Kruzan of Simpsonville, SC; sister-in-law Gloria Knox; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Diehl, she was preceded in death by her daughter Charlotte Key, son David Zantow and infant son Richard, also three brothers, George Knox, Vernal Knox, Robert Knox, two sisters Joyce Brigson and Phyllis Zantow.

An open house to honor Joan’s memory will be held from 10 a.m. to Noon on Friday, May 30, 2025, at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 N. Wright Road, Janesville. Private entombment will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park Mausoleum. Online condolences are welcome at www.henkeclarson.com.
