Joan E. Brunhoefer

Joan Ellen Brunhoefer of Janesville, passed away at her home on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at the age of 64. Joan was born on May 28, 1962, in Janesville, the daughter of Robert and Carol Lucey. She married Gregory J. Brunhoefer, on January 11, 1997, at Roxbury Church of Christ.

Joan attended Blackhawk Technical College to become a legal secretary. She was formerly employed by the Brennan-Steil Law firm and as a court reporter. Prior to retiring, she was employed as a teacher’s aide for special needs students at Wilson, Monroe and Madison Elementary Schools. Joan will be remembered for her love of dogs, and she enjoyed being a dog sitter. She also enjoyed watching true crime documentaries, cooking, singing, bird watching, going to rummage sales and gardening. She will be remembered for being very spiritual in her beliefs.

Joan is survived by her husband, Greg Brunhoefer; two sons, David Brunhoefer and Matthew Brunhoefer both of Janesville; her brother Mark (Lisa) Lucey of Florida; her foster mother, Vera Stillmank; fosters brothers and foster sisters including Linda and Sandy. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 N. Wright Road, Janesville with Pastor Steve Freitag officiating.
