Jeremiah (Jeremy) McCarty, 42, of Mazomanie, WI, passed on Oct 5, 2026.
He was born to JD and Sue McCarty in August of 1984. He attended schools in Janesville, WI, graduating from Craig high school in 2003. He served in the Army National Guard, including deployment during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Jeremiah was preceded in death by his grandmothers.
He is survived by his wife Bethany, his parents, sister and brother in law, two nephews and niece, his grandfather, and many uncles, aunts, and cousins who all loved him dearly.
Jeremy was adventurous, creative, and above all goofy. He dreamed big and was always ready for the next adventure. He loved to ride his bike and explore or hunt for treasures. Jeremy was an incredibly talented artist in many mediums including wood, metal and ceramics.
Jeremy had a deep love for music. He played tenor saxophone in elementary school and continued into high school. He was a self-taught guitarist, and, to the relief of his wife, chose not to practice harmonica. When Jeremy attended concerts, his joy outshone the music itself.
Jeremy adored animals, especially dogs. He had a huge heart and often “just looking” meant that an animal found a new loving home. His dogs Sevro and Willow loved walking to the creek with him and would always come home muddy and tired, with big doggy smiles on their faces. They could always rely on their daddy to share the best treats, and have eaten far more chimichangas than any canine ever should have.
Jeremy was deeply beloved, and his family will forever cherish the laughter he filled their lives with and his great big hugs.
A celebration of life will be held at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home in Janesville, WI on October 17th from 2-4pm.
An Interment ceremony for the family will be held at a later date at the VA cemetery in Union Grove. Online condolences are www.henkeclarson.com
