Diane D. Sargent

Diane D. Sargent, a long-time Janesville resident passed away at The Heights in Evansville on June 18, 2025. She was age 85. Diane was born on July 29, 1939 in Madison, WI, the daughter of Lester and Fern (Severson) Gust. She grew up in Madison, attended Madison schools and graduated from Madison Central High School.

Diane married Wayne L. Sargent on July 3, 1983. She was employed as a legal secretary for many years for Attorney Gil Sedor and for the law firm of Sedor and McDonald. She especially enjoyed her time working with Attorney Patrick McDonald. She later was employed at the Rock County Courthouse retiring from the Rock County Clerk’s office.

Diane will be remembered for her love of her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also had a great love for being at the family cabin at Stone Lake near Hayward, WI.

Diane is survived by her loving husband, Wayne Sargent; daughter, Denise Falk; sister, Suzanne Heeren; brother, Lester (Lynn) Gust Jr; grandchildren Jessica (Onu) Ikegboma, Kevin (Talia) Miller, Brendan Falk, Jordan Falk; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Nathan and Elsa Ikegboma, Kason Miller with another great-grand baby on the way; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Diane was preceded in death by her daughter, D’ette Wagner, her father, Lester Gust Sr; mother, Fern McKenzie; stepfather, Douglas McKenzie.

A special thank you to the staff at The Heights and SSM Health at Home Hospice, especially nurse Stephanie for being so kind and thoughtful during this time.

A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 N. Wright Road, Janesville.
