David "Dave" Streuly, 66, of Janesville made his final transition on November 23, 2024.
Dave was a devoted husband of 31 years to his surviving wife, Theresa "T" Streuly. They continued to hold onto their precious love until the end. "He'd give up all his comfort and sleep out in the rain, if she said that's the way it ought to be."
Dave is also survived by son, David "The Kid" Streuly, Daughter, Makina "Baby Girl" Burger, Son-in-Law, Austin Burger, Grandson Maxtyn "Scooter" Burger, who brought a sparkle to his eye, and son, Robert Laws.
Dave was known for surviving his double lung transplant in 2022 and fighting his courageous on going health battle for the past two years. While in good health, he enjoyed all things sports, hunting, and bowling in his younger years. He was a well-known DJ at Pips in Janesville, where he met the love of his life, Theresa. He worked for the Wisconsin River Rail Transit Commission and was a member of the Operating Engineers Local #139, operating cranes for many years. He was known for his long phone calls, stories and stepping up as the "family reporter." He was strong-willed and stubborn at times but had an enormous heart and quirky humor. His family was his entire world.
In addition to the above listed, Dave is also survived by brothers, Terry (Pam) Streuly, Bruce (Cindy) Streuly, Rex (Robin) Streuly, Jimmy (Cynthia) Streuly, sisters, Dianna Jondall, LeAnne (Brian Bogard) Streuly, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Dave was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Streuly, mother, Lorraine (DeShon) Streuly, brothers, Kenny Streuly, Larry Streuly, Jerry "Bucky" Streuly, and sisters, Dawn Speck, Barbara Peck, Linda Hoff.
His departure leaves his family with a void within their lives, yet they find comfort revisiting the memories and love they shared.
The family would like to thank the UW Hospital, UW Transplant Team, UW Pulmonary Team and the outstanding Nurses in D65 for the continued dedicated care to Dave during his long stays there.
Dave would say, everything is fine up here kids, and David, you still owe me 10 bucks.
