Connie Marie Holmes, age 69, of Janesville, passed away at her home on Sunday, October 18, 2026. Connie was born in Janesville on April 9, 1957, the daughter of James and Marcella (Prox) Cahill. She attended St. Patrick Catholic Grade School, Edison Middle School, and graduated from Janesville Craig High School in 1975.
Connie married Steve W. Holmes on September 19, 1981, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. They were blessed with two children, Michael and Sarah.
Connie was employed by JCPenney’s and later worked for 18 years at the Parker Pen Company. Connie had a gift for thinking of others- whether she was hunting down just-right items online, snapping photos of the people she loved, or sharing long, meaningful phone calls. But, above all else, was her love for her family and her dogs.
Connie is survived by her husband, Steve Holmes; son, Michael (Jennifer) Holmes of Cuba City, Wis.; daughter, Sarah (Ted) Schacherer of Decorah, Iowa; grandchildren, Claire, Elise, Brielle, Cora, and Holton; sister, Kathy (Keith) Hyland; brothers, Denny (Andrea) Cahill, and Tom (Jackie Peabody) Cahill; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved fur babies, Riley and Marla. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Joe Cahill.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2026, at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 N. Wright Road, Janesville. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., on Oct. 26th at the funeral home. Private burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in memory of Connie.
