Carol Jean Dwyer, age 83 of Madison, WI passed away at her brother’s home in Janesville, WI where she was being cared for by his family and hospice due to declining health. Carol was born May 12, 1942 on the family farm near Spring Green, WI the daughter of Clarence and Almira (Luther) Ruhland. She graduated from St. Luke’s Catholic High School and UW-Madison. She married Phillip Dwyer and they resided in Waunakee, WI for a time before moving to Madison.
Carol was a piano and voice teacher for many years. She loved music and was especially proud of a record she made singing soprano. She also had a great love for philosophy. Carol enjoyed staying active and will be remembered for riding her bicycle and taking walks up until her recent health problems prevented her from doing so. Carol attended Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Madison.
Survivors include her sister, Imelda Cotter; her brother, Earl (Mary Jane) Ruhland; several nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Dwyer; her parents, Clarence and Almira Ruhland; siblings, Ralph Ruhland, Evan Ruhland, Lloyd Ruhland, Roger Ruhland, Glenn Ruhland, Lester Ruhland and Alice Caldwell.
