Betty Mae Johnson

Betty M. Johnson of Janesville, WI passed away on September 17, 2026 at Oak Park Place at the age of 100. Betty was born in Christiana Township, Dane County, WI on March 19, 1926, the eighth child of Samuel C. and Thea Marie (Rindahl) Roum. She graduated from Cambridge High School in 1944. Betty married Karl J. Johnson on September 14, 1946, at West Koshkonong Lutheran Church after Karl completed his tour of duty with the U. S. Navy. During their 72 years of marriage, they resided in Edgerton, Orfordville and Janesville. Betty retired from Bank One (Now Chase Bank) in 1989. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Janesville where she was an active volunteer at the Wilson School Breakfast Club, member of the Mary Circle and Mission Serving Group. She was an avid quilter for Lutheran World Relief, sewing countless quilts in her home.

Betty is survived by two sons: Paul G. (Marie) Johnson of Mexico, Bruce K. (Nancy) Johnson of Rockford, IL; four grandchildren, Melissa A. (Matt) Johnson, Michael R. (Lisa) Johnson, Dustin R. (Kori) Johnson, Mikel R. (Kacey) Johnson; nine great-grandchildren, Parker, Kayleigh, Penelope, Garrett, Jose, Luke, Brandtley, Micah and Emily Johnson; also a special friend, Margaret Johnson, mother of Dustin and Mikel; as well as nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers, Chester and Robert Roun, five sisters, Gladys Monson, Clara Hanson, Bernice Dahl, Sadie Eng and Ella Falk as well as nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 21, 2026 at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 N. Wright Road. Janesville. Pastor David Andert will officiate. Burial will follow in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, September 21st at the HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME.
